Sekolah Kebangsaan Convent Jalan Peel is a mission school, which began as a branch of the Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Convent Bukit Nanas in January 1949. Plans to build a school in the area of ​​Legian Circular which has started developing rapidly at the end of the thirties has been stopped due to breach of the 1941-1945 war.

The school was opened in January 1949 with six classes of 40 students for each class of degree 1 to degree II is housed in a temporary hall. The first headmaster was Sister St. Catherine Hendricks. Because the site is a former mining school, then work is dry, take a long time. So the students had to be content to learn the building roof and a small hall for two years initially.


In January 1951, a new building consisting of 16 classrooms, an office and a staff room was completed and the headmaster at that time was Sister St. John Bosco. As the number of students increased to 1000 people and also to provide opportunities for secondary school pupils in 1957, the students degree 1 to degree 6 has been divided into two sessions. School first under the guardianship of Miss Clare Hare has dipidahkan to Abu Bakr Primary School in Jalan Pasar. School II, was led by Mrs Perreau Caterian transferred to St.. Celebrity Gabriels Road. Four other classes Primary 1 and II live in Peel Street, where the headmaster was Sister St. John Bosco.

In 1963, Sister Alphonse Coombs took over as being Professor of SRK Convent Jalan Peel, and when he retired in September 1975, Ms Monica Chow acting headmaster until July 1977. Mrs. Evelyn John served as headmaster of the school from July 1977 until May 1984. Senior Assistant is Mrs. Khadija Melan up to Sister Anne-Marie Lopez was appointed as a teacher of this school on January 1, 1985.
